Nature

From the forests in the North to the dunes in the South, there is so much to discover, invisible at first sight.

Because the museum lays in the southern province of Tinghir we're not treated on very lush vegetation.  Therefor it would be our delight to take you out to discover what's really there.

We have a wide range of birds, insects, reptiles, .. that are very well adapted to this climate. The Uromastyx (spine tailed lizard) is a nearly living dinosaur and a very special creature living amongst us. An encounter is quite rare .. but never to forget.

Next to all animal life there are the plants. Extreme hardy plants all have their own way of surviving in the toughest of regions.  Learn what they look like and and how they survive on a fieldtrip with one of our guides.  He'll also explain you whether the plants have any medicinal values nowadays still used.

If you're in love with flowers, you really should try to visit after a wet winter end of February or beginning of March for an encounter with the most suprising metamorphosis of the desert.  A little water is all it takes to have flowers in all kinds of colors and forms to rise from the sand. A most spectacular sight for only few weeks of the year.
